PHL Masters sasabak sa World Championships


Todo ang suportang ibi­nigay ng Philippine Sports Commission sa National Masters and Seniors Athletics Association of the Philippines na dadayo sa 22nd World Masters Athletics Championships sa Perth, Australia.

Kakatawanin ng seven-­man team ang ­Pilipinas sa biennial world championships sa Oct. 26-Nov. 26.

“Filipina javelin throw icon Erlinda Lavandia leads the Philippine contingent with her attempt on November 2 to wrest back the javelin throw gold medal she last won in 2013 in Porto Alegre, Brazil,” ani masters team manager Edward Kho.

Bubuksan ni ­current national team coach Danilo Fresnido ang kam­panya ng ­Pilipinas sa Oct. 29 sa men’s M40 cate­gory. Sa Nov. 1, tatangkain ni pole ­vaulter ­Emerson Obiena na dupli­kahin ang bronze medal finish niya sa world championships sa France.

Susubok sa ­women’s long jump sa Nov. 5 si three-time Olympian ­Marestella Torres-Sunang at si veteran marathoner Lorna Vejano sa women’s marathon sa Nov. 6.
