Bineripika’t inapru­bahan ng 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Games 2017 organizing committee ang malakas na 160 Philippine contingent para sa quadrennial meet sa delegation registration meeting sa Ash­gabat, Turkmenistan bago mag-weekend.

Kabilang sa delegado ang 116 athletes, kasama ang mga coaches, me­dical, secretariat support teams at officials sa 11-day event na susulong sa Sept. 17-27.

Si deputy chief of mission Raymund Reyes ng karatedo ang kumatawan sa Team Pilipinas sa pagtalakay ng sports entries, accommodation, allocation at iba pang entitlements ng national team. Aniya, maayos ang preparasyon, mga pasilidad at ang pagtanggap ng organizers sa mga kalahok.

Tutuloy ang PHL squads sa ­157-hectare Olympic Village na kina­lalagakan ng sports ­venues, Athletes Village, Sport Hotel at Polyclinics.

“Their provisions are very generous. Our only challenge in operations is internet access as social media is blocked and monitored by the go­vernment for security reasons,” hirit ni Reyes.

Isinama ang e-sports dito bilang demo event.

“I wish this was a re­gular event as this team has shown strong me­dal potentials in past competitions,” dagdag ni Reyes.
