WITH the first half of the year over,  the Optical Media Board (OMB) under Edu Manzano has an impressive report card to present to the public.
The agency has been working double time seizing counterfeit optical discs all over the country.
Last July, its agents, with SWAT operatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized 413,270 or more pieces of pirated CDs and DVDs estimated at P144M  inside Makalatas Building at Norzagaray St., Quiapo, Manila.  
OMB followed this up two weeks after by confiscating 100,000 pieces of pirated and pornographic optical media, along with thousands of DVD labels ready for repackaging.
OMB agents also took hold of 48 stampers (metal master copies used in replicating compact discs). Each stamper costs P20,000 and can reproduce 50,000 pieces or more compact discs before being replaced.
These stampers are under forensic examination for future enforcement and prosecution purposes.
Last July 30, OMB and agents from the Bureau of Customs Intellectual Property Unit scored another first, this time at a warehouse in Sun Valley Subdivision, Parañaque.
They seized 210 large boxes with an estimated P1.2M worth of pirated and pornographic optical discs together with hundreds of other infringed trademark products like garments, jewelry and accessories allegedly imported from Taiwan.
The next day, Sen. Jamby Madrigal, OMB enforcement officers and UNICEF representatives inspected CD stalls in Makati Cinema Square.
Several hundreds of fake CD labels and approximately 16,800 pirated and pornographic compact discs estimated at P5.88M were taken into protective custody.

Si Geum Soon (Han Hye Jin, lumabas bilang So Seo No sa Jumong) ay masayahin ngunit lampa. Lumaki siya sa piling ng kanyang lola.
Nagpupursigi si Geum Soon upang abutin ang pangarap na maging world-class beautician.
Kahit lagi niyang ibinabagsak ang hairdressing licensing exams, hindi siya nawawalan ng pag-asa.
