Gloria dapat sisihin sa power crisis (Rey Marfil) Ngayong nahaharap sa matinding energy crisis ang Pilipinas, walang ibang maaaring sisihin ang publiko kundi si Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo dahil sa kapalpakan sa kabila ng pagkakaroon ng sobra-sobrang kapangyarihan, sampu ng kapamilya at mga kaalyado nito. Ito ang ipinahayag ni administration Senator Pia Cayetano dahil hawak aniya lahat ni Mrs. Arroyo ang kapangyarihan upang ituwid ang pamamalakad sa energy at environment sectors lalo pa’t mismong anak at bayaw ang may kontrol sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso. Napasakamay ng kanyang anak na si Pampanga Cong. Mikey Arroyo ang chairmanship ng House committee on energy habang ibinigay ni Speaker Jose de Venecia, Jr. sa bayaw ni Mrs. Arroyo na si Negros Cong. Ignacio "Iggy" Arroyo ang chairmanship ng House committee on energy. "The President’s apparent bid to take full control of these sectors became more pronounced with the recent appointment of her relatives, Representatives Mikey Arroyo and Iggy Arroyo, as chairperson of the energy and environment committees of the House of Representatives, respectively," ani Cayetano. Maliban sa magtiyu-hing Arroyo, dalawa pang political allies ng Pangulo ang naupo sa energy at environment sectors bilang gabinete, partikular sina Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Angelo Reyes at Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Joselito "Lito" Atienza, Jr. "By apparently taking full control of these two critical sectors, the President is making herself directly accountable to issues relating to energy and the environment, especially in light of the looming power and water crisis," ayon pa sa senadora. Sakaling magkaroon aniya ng power crisis, walang ibang dapat pang pagbuntunan ng sisi ang publiko kundi mismong si Mrs. Arroyo dahil puro kamag-anak ang humahawak ng sensitibong posisyon sa Lower House at malalapit nitong kaibigan ang nasa executive branch. Matapos umanong palitan ni Mrs. Arroyo si dating DOE Secretary Rafael Lotilla, inilipat naman ang Philippine Mining Development Corp. sa Office of the President mula sa DENR kung saan pamumunuan ni dating DENR Secretary Heherson Alvarez. |
